Comparing LMS Pricing Models – Number of Concurrent Users
When comparing LMS pricing models, there are several factors to consider. Our pricing structure is to charge per concurrent user. This means that the cost is based on the number of users accessing the LMS at the same time. All of our pricing plans allow for an unlimited total number of user accounts. This is important for organizations that have a large and constantly changing user base. Additionally, we offer an unlimited number of courses within the LMS. There is no license fee or setup fee associated with using our LMS platform. This can be particularly beneficial for organizations with limited budgets. Furthermore, it is essential to consider the features offered by the LMS solution.

Have Any Questions?
FAQ’s
About our LMS Hosting and Support packages.
What is the cost of a learning management system (LMS)?
The cost of a learning management system depends on various factors, such as the number of active users, the features and functionality required, and the pricing model chosen.
What is an LMS vendor?
An LMS vendor is a company that develops and sells learning management system software.
What additional costs should I consider when purchasing an LMS?
When purchasing an LMS, you should consider additional costs such as implementation, customization, integration, training, support, and maintenance.
What is the difference between a learning management system and an online learning platform?
A learning management system (LMS) is a software application that helps organizations manage, deliver, and track their learning programs. In contrast, an online learning platform is a broader term that includes various tools and technologies for providing online education.
How do I choose the right LMS for my organization?
When choosing an LMS, consider factors such as your organization’s learning objectives, the number of users, the features and functionality required, the budget, and the level of support you need from the LMS provider.
How much does a learning management system cost?
The cost of a learning management system can vary widely depending on factors such as the number of active users, the features and functionality required, and the pricing model chosen. It is best to request pricing information directly from LMS vendors.
What is the pay-per-learner pricing model?
The most popular LMS pricing models include the pay-per-learner model, the per-user model, the per-course model, and the tiered pricing model. Each model has its own advantages and considerations.
Why does Pukunui charge based on the number of concurrent users and not per-user / active users / total users?
We incur massive cloud server costs from AWS only when users are accessing the platform concurrently. So instead of charging for total users or active users etc (which wouldn’t be fair), we pass on our cost benefit to our clients and charge based on the number of concurrent users alone, while offering an unlimited number of total users. (So that you don’t need to worry about purchasing additional licences each time a new user comes on board)
What happens if our usage increases mid-way through an annual subscription?
If you pay for 12 months for 200 concurrent users, but after say 3 months, we find that you’re frequently exceeding the plan’s limits, we would get your written permission, scale up your plan, and charge a pro-rated difference for the remaining 9 months alone. If it’s a one-off increase in usage, we wouldn’t mind / we’ll ignore it. If it’s very frequent, then we would advise you to scale up your plan. The other scenario is – if you know in advance that usage will be high during an examination period, we can scale up your plan for that month alone and charge a pro-rated amount for that. In short, we will try to be as flexible as possible
So, our finance team should expect a price increase in case the initial package’s limits are frequently exceeded?
Yes, that’s correct. And to reiterate – price increase would not be automatic / will not take you by surprise. We will notify you, get your approval in writing and only then scale up / send a quote etc
Can storage be scaled up as well?
Storage can be scaled up to as much as you need, we will just need to charge based on the additional storage. Normally, the storage figures mentioned are more than enough for those plans (based on estimates from our previous clients) but we can always scale up.
What is the difference between open-source LMS and commercial LMS?
An open-source LMS is a learning management system that is freely available and can be modified and customized, while a commercial LMS is a proprietary software that is sold by vendors and may require a license fee.
Ownership of Data?
When you engage Pukunui, you have complete ownership of all your data/code/content, including any additional code we may add in to the system. The minimum subscription period is 1 year. At the end of your tenure with us, we will hand over a copy of all your data and we can help/advise you on how to install it on an in-house server if required.
How can I compare LMS pricing?
To compare LMS pricing, you can request pricing information from different LMS vendors and consider factors such as the pricing model, the additional costs, the features and functionality offered, and the level of support provided.
Is Pukunui a Malaysian company?
